Why use the Retro FWD Front Urethane Motor Mount?
Made for enthusiasts by enthusiasts right here in the USA! The stock motor mount is soft and allows the motor to move while under power result in loss of HP to the ground! Our motor mounts bolt into the stock location, are firmer, with quality materials to last you longer than any of the stock mounts. The new urethane motor mount can result in more engine vibration but it is worth it for the performance! The stock mount is 4.2 lbs and this one is 4.6 lbs with this HD steel base!
What is included in the kit?
The kit comes with (1) front motor mount with hardware to bolt to the sub frame. This kit bolts in the stock location at stock height.
How to install.
Follow all normal safety procedures when working on a vehicle
loosen the front motor mount mounting bolts. Retain the nut from the upper bolt of the motor mount, you will need it to install the new one.
Use your choice of lifting methods to lift the motor and remove pressure of the front motor mount.
Remove the front motor mount and replace with the Retro FWD Urethane Motor Mount.
Set the motor back on the new mount.
Tighten down upper and lower bolts. Make sure to use the nut you saved from step 2.
